Singleton | Verify Customers vs SMS Alertfor Shopify (2026)
Singleton | Verify Customers and SMS Alert both target Shopify merchants but address drastically different needs within the "Accounts and login" category. Singleton focuses on controlling access to a store based on customer approval, enabling merchants to gate prices, 'add to cart' buttons, and even entire store content. It's designed for businesses that require strict customer verification and customized registration processes, perhaps due to regulatory requirements or wanting to offer exclusive access to specific clientele. SMS Alert, on the other hand, is a communication and security tool leveraging SMS messaging. Its focus is on enhancing the customer experience through order updates, security measures like OTP login, and automated notifications for abandoned carts and low stock alerts. The apps cater to different priorities: access control versus customer engagement and communication.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing control over who accesses their store and what they see, Singleton | Verify Customers is the clear choice. Its high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest it effectively delivers on its promise of customer verification and content restriction. However, for merchants focused on enhancing the customer experience through timely updates, securing logins, and recovering abandoned carts via SMS, SMS Alert, despite its lower rating and fewer reviews, offers the necessary functionality. Merchants serving the Indian market may also find SMS Alert's DLT compliance essential. Ultimately, the 'better' app depends entirely on the specific business needs.
