SKU Auto | Bulk SKU Generator vs Stockist Store Locatorfor Shopify (2026)
SKU Auto | Bulk SKU Generator and Stockist Store Locator are Shopify apps catering to distinct needs. SKU Auto focuses on streamlining back-end product management, specifically SKU and barcode generation, targeted towards merchants with large inventories who need to efficiently organize and update their product data. Its strength lies in bulk editing capabilities, custom templates, and a one-time payment model. In contrast, Stockist Store Locator prioritizes front-end customer experience by enabling merchants to create a customizable store locator map for their website. This app aims to increase in-store sales and reduce customer support inquiries by showcasing store locations and providing insightful search analytics. While both apps have perfect 5/5 ratings, the significant difference in the number of reviews (5 vs. 273) suggests Stockist Store Locator has a much larger user base and longer track record. SKU Auto appears newer or more niche. Functionally, the apps address completely different pain points. SKU Auto tackles internal operational efficiency, whereas Stockist Store Locator enhances customer accessibility and drives in-person sales. The 'Selling in person' category they share simply reflects a potential outcome for the Stockist app, not a core overlap in functionality.

Our Verdict
Choosing between SKU Auto and Stockist Store Locator depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant struggles with efficiently managing a large product catalog and wants to automate SKU and barcode creation, SKU Auto is the clear choice. The one-time payment model offers a predictable cost. However, due to the low number of reviews, it's advisable to research the vendor thoroughly.
On the other hand, if a merchant has physical store locations and wants to drive more foot traffic and improve customer accessibility, Stockist Store Locator is the preferred option. The high number of positive reviews suggests it's a well-established and reliable solution. While the pricing model is not explicitly stated, store locator apps typically operate on a subscription basis, so that should be factored into the decision.
