Smart Size Chart & Size Guide vs Ymq Product Options & Variantsfor Shopify (2026)
Smart Size Chart & Size Guide and Ymq Product Options & Variants are both Shopify apps catering to customization, but address fundamentally different needs. Smart Size Chart & Size Guide focuses on providing customers with accurate sizing information through visually appealing and customizable size charts. Its primary goal is to reduce returns and increase sales by helping customers find the right fit. Ymq Product Options & Variants, on the other hand, expands the available product options beyond Shopify's built-in capabilities. Ymq is ideal for merchants selling highly customizable products, personalized items, or products with complex pricing structures. It allows for a wide range of option types, including text input, file uploads, and advanced pricing calculators. This flexibility is essential for merchants who need to offer extensive customization options to their customers. Smart Size Chart excels when fit and sizing are critical factors in the purchasing decision, especially in apparel, footwear, and jewelry categories. Its focus is on improving the shopping experience and building trust, not directly on expanding product configurability.

Our Verdict
For merchants whose products require customers to select specific sizes and fits (e.g., clothing, shoes), Smart Size Chart & Size Guide is the superior choice. Its focus on creating clear, visually appealing size charts directly addresses the need to ensure customers choose the correct size, minimizing returns and improving satisfaction. The high rating and customization options suggest it is both effective and user-friendly.
However, for merchants selling products where customers need to personalize features or create highly customized items with advanced pricing options (e.g., personalized gifts, custom furniture), Ymq Product Options & Variants is the better solution. Its robust feature set for creating unlimited product options, conditional logic, and pricing calculators empowers merchants to offer a wider range of customization options and handle complex pricing scenarios. While the rating is slightly lower, the higher number of reviews suggests a larger user base and potentially more mature feature set, but at the possible cost of being more complicated to setup.
