Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a straightforward solution to add unique descriptions to product variants and prioritize simplicity, SMART Variant Descriptions appears to be the better choice, although the limited number of reviews is a consideration. However, Variant Description OMG offers a more comprehensive solution for merchants with complex products requiring detailed descriptions and the ability to leverage metafields. The inclusion of bulk import/export and a richer text editor makes it well-suited for larger catalogs or businesses needing advanced customization capabilities. If feature richness and scalability are key, Variant Description OMG is the stronger option, despite the slightly lower average rating (offset by a significantly larger sample size).
