Sold Count: Low Stock Counter vs Yeps Announcement Bar, Bannersfor Shopify (2026)
Sold Count: Low Stock Counter and Yeps Announcement Bar, Banners both aim to boost sales, but they approach the problem from different angles. Sold Count focuses specifically on creating scarcity and urgency by highlighting stock levels and sold counts directly on product and collection pages. It aims to trigger FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) to motivate immediate purchases. Yeps, on the other hand, is a more general-purpose marketing tool that provides a suite of popups, bars, and banners to promote sales, capture leads, and announce offers. The target audience also differs significantly. Sold Count is best suited for merchants who believe customers are hesitant due to a lack of urgency. These merchants want to directly highlight limited stock to push conversions. Yeps targets merchants looking for a broader marketing solution, needing features like email capture, announcement bars, or geo-targeted offers. It's a more comprehensive app but lacks the specific stock-focused approach of Sold Count. Finally, it is important to note the differences in user reviews; Yeps has a much larger and more positive user base.

Our Verdict
If a merchant's primary goal is to create a sense of urgency around limited stock and sold quantities, Sold Count: Low Stock Counter is the more directly relevant app, despite its lower rating and fewer reviews. It provides focused tools to visually emphasize scarcity on product and collection pages. However, the very low rating and few reviews should give a merchant serious pause. Thoroughly investigate recent feedback and compare to other options that use similar techniques but have higher scores.
On the other hand, Yeps Announcement Bar, Banners is a better choice for merchants seeking a broader marketing solution with a wider range of features, including popups, announcement bars, and email capture. The significantly higher rating and larger number of reviews suggest a more reliable and well-received app, even though it's not solely focused on scarcity. Yeps may be a better option to run A/B tests and build a customer journey from the first website visit.
Common Questions
Which app is better for creating FOMO?
Sold Count is designed specifically for FOMO, using sold counts and low stock alerts. Yeps can also create FOMO through countdown timers, but its approach is less direct and more general.
Does Sold Count offer email capture?
Based on the provided description, Sold Count does not explicitly offer email capture features. Its focus is on displaying stock information.
Can I target specific customers with Sold Count?
Sold Count allows customization based on inventory quantity (e.g., displaying different messages when stock is low or high), but it doesn't mention advanced targeting options like Yeps.
Is Yeps easy to use for beginners?
Yeps claims 'no code required,' implying ease of use. However, the extensive feature set might make it more complex to navigate than Sold Count's simpler interface. There are also implied additional third-party integrations needed to support some of the tools, like Klaviyo and Mailchimp, further increasing the complexity for a beginner user.
Which app has better customer support?
Without further information, it is impossible to assess customer support quality. However, a higher rating and a larger number of reviews, like Yeps boasts, often correlate with better customer satisfaction, which might include better support.
