Sold Count: Product Sale Proof vs TrustShop: Product Reviewsfor Shopify (2026)
Sold Count: Product Sale Proof and TrustShop: Product Reviews both aim to increase sales through social proof, but they approach it from different angles. Sold Count focuses on directly showcasing sales volume, stock levels, and promotional badges to create a sense of urgency and popularity. It emphasizes visual cues related to product popularity and scarcity. TrustShop, on the other hand, specializes in collecting and displaying product reviews, building trust through customer testimonials and user-generated content. TrustShop's significantly higher rating (4.9/5 vs 4/5) and review count (226 vs 10) suggest it's a more established and well-received app. Sold Count's offering is more comprehensive in terms of features like displaying stock and labels, whereas TrustShop's feature set is inferred to center around reviews, based on its name. The choice between them depends on whether a merchant prioritizes immediate visual cues of sales activity or longer-term trust-building through customer reviews.

Our Verdict
TrustShop: Product Reviews is the stronger choice for merchants primarily focused on building long-term trust and credibility by showcasing authentic customer feedback. The higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews indicate greater user satisfaction and reliability. Its proven ability to generate and manage reviews makes it a solid foundation for social proof.
Sold Count: Product Sale Proof can be beneficial for merchants who want to instantly highlight product popularity and create a sense of urgency, especially if their products are fast-moving or frequently on sale. It is suitable for stores with high-volume transactions seeking to visually reinforce buyer confidence. However, the smaller review count raises questions about its wider user base and reliability compared to TrustShop.
