Spot Layer: Image Hotspots vs TikFeed ‑ TikTok Feedfor Shopify (2026)
Spot Layer: Image Hotspots and TikFeed - TikTok Feed, while sharing the 'Images and Media - Other' category on Shopify, serve drastically different purposes. Spot Layer likely allows merchants to add interactive hotspots to images, potentially for showcasing product details or providing additional information within images. TikFeed, on the other hand, focuses specifically on integrating TikTok content into a Shopify store, allowing merchants to display TikTok feeds as a form of social proof and to create shoppable video experiences. TikFeed's explicit mention of features like product tagging and converting visitors into shoppers positions it as a marketing and sales-focused app directly leveraging the popularity of TikTok. Spot Layer, with its generic description, is likely a broader tool for enhancing product images. A key difference lies in their target audience. TikFeed targets merchants actively using TikTok for marketing and aiming to integrate that content directly into their Shopify storefront to boost sales and social following. Spot Layer likely appeals to a broader audience looking to enrich their product imagery with interactive elements, possibly for informational or visual merchandising purposes. The stark difference in focus makes the choice dependent on the merchant's specific marketing strategy and image content strategy.

Our Verdict
For merchants actively leveraging TikTok for marketing and seeking to integrate their TikTok content seamlessly into their Shopify store to drive sales and increase social following, TikFeed is the clear choice. The shoppable video feature and direct integration provide a distinct advantage.
However, if a merchant's primary need is to enhance product images with interactive elements and provide additional information within those images, without a specific focus on TikTok, Spot Layer might be a more suitable option. Keep in mind the low number of reviews for both apps which implies that further research and trialing is highly recommended. The absence of a clear marketing narrative for Spot Layer also creates a risk. TikFeed is the better choice based on the limited data, especially for social media savvy stores.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing social media followers?
TikFeed is explicitly designed to increase social following by showcasing TikTok content on your Shopify store.
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the available descriptions, TikFeed is likely easier to use as it focuses on integrating existing TikTok content, while Spot Layer may require more effort to create and manage interactive hotspots.
Can I use Spot Layer to create shoppable images?
The description of Spot Layer doesn't explicitly mention shoppable images, so this functionality is uncertain. TikFeed is clearly designed to create shoppable TikTok videos.
Which app has better customer support?
Without additional data on customer support for either app, it is impossible to determine which has better customer support. The low review count for both apps hints that customer support data may be lacking, so contacting the developers may be wise.
If I don't use TikTok, is TikFeed still useful?
No. TikFeed is specifically designed to integrate and display TikTok feeds. Without a TikTok presence, TikFeed offers no value.
