Stocky vs SyncBase Airtable Instant Syncfor Shopify (2026)
Stocky and SyncBase Airtable Instant Sync are both inventory-related apps available on the Shopify app store, but they cater to very different needs and use cases. Stocky focuses on optimizing inventory management specifically for brick-and-mortar retail businesses utilizing Shopify POS Pro. It offers features like purchase order management, stocktakes via scanning, and in-depth reporting designed to help merchants minimize stockouts and overstocking. SyncBase Airtable Instant Sync, on the other hand, takes a broader approach, aiming to connect your Shopify store with Airtable for comprehensive data management and workflow automation. The primary difference lies in their target user and flexibility. Stocky is targeted to merchants with Shopify POS Pro systems who want a purpose-built inventory management system with tight integration. SyncBase is better suited to merchants wanting a highly customizable solution using Airtable as a central data hub, extending beyond just inventory to cover PIM, OMS, and even potentially ERP functionality. SyncBase also boasts a "Studio" team to build custom workflows and provides multi-store support. Therefore, SyncBase provides a system with significantly more integrations but also requires more up-front customization and setup to get value.

Our Verdict
For brick-and-mortar retailers already invested in Shopify POS Pro and seeking a straightforward, integrated inventory management solution, Stocky is a reasonable choice, although its lower rating should be considered. However, businesses needing more than just basic inventory management and desiring a highly customizable solution linked to Airtable should strongly consider SyncBase Airtable Instant Sync. While SyncBase may require more initial setup and potentially professional services through their "Studio," its flexibility and data synchronization capabilities offer a much broader range of functionality and potential long-term value. Consider whether the immediate ease of integration (Stocky) outweighs the long-term flexibility and scaling potential (SyncBase).
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Stocky is likely easier to set up if you are already using Shopify POS Pro, as it is designed to be a native integration. SyncBase requires connecting to Airtable and configuring the data synchronization, which may be more complex.
Can I use SyncBase to manage purchase orders?
Yes, SyncBase can manage purchase orders but it requires configuring an Airtable base for purchase order management, potentially using their "Studio" service to build the workflow.
Does Stocky work with multiple Shopify stores?
The app description for Stocky does not mention multi-store support, implying it is designed for a single store with Shopify POS Pro. SyncBase explicitly supports multi-store connectivity.
Is Stocky suitable for online-only stores?
While Stocky *could* be used by an online-only store, its description heavily emphasizes its connection to Shopify POS Pro and brick-and-mortar retail. It is likely not the optimal choice for a purely online business without a POS system.
How much does SyncBase's "Studio" service cost?
The provided information does not state the cost of SyncBase's "Studio" service. Merchants would need to contact SyncBase directly for a quote.
