Stok: Notify Me Restock Alert vs WOD: PreOrder Nowfor Shopify (2026)
Stok: Notify Me Restock Alert and WOD: PreOrder Now are both Shopify apps addressing out-of-stock product issues, but they cater to different merchant needs. Stok focuses on recovering lost sales by allowing customers to sign up for restock notifications via email, SMS, and WhatsApp, effectively creating a waiting list. It emphasizes ease of use with a no-code UI and offers features like price drop alerts and mailing list growth. Stok is designed to recapture sales from products temporarily unavailable by immediately notifying customers upon restock and allowing them to purchase the product immediately. WOD: PreOrder Now, on the other hand, enables merchants to sell products *before* they are back in stock by enabling preorders. WOD's strength lies in its bulk management capabilities, preorder scheduling, and inventory control features. It provides stylish badges to indicate preorder availability and offers mixed cart alerts. While Stok seems geared toward capturing immediate sales when products are restocked, WOD focuses on securing revenue in advance and managing demand for upcoming product releases or restocking events. It is designed for merchants comfortable with actively managing preorders and optimizing inventory based on preorder demand. Despite a lower rating, WOD boasts a significantly higher number of reviews, suggesting broader adoption or a longer market presence.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with instantly recovering lost sales as soon as products are restocked and value a simple, no-code setup with multi-channel notifications (Email, SMS, WhatsApp), Stok: Notify Me Restock Alert is the better choice. Its high rating suggests a positive user experience and its focus on ease of use is ideal for those who want a quick and effective solution. However, the limited number of reviews should be considered.
Conversely, WOD: PreOrder Now is better suited for merchants who strategically manage demand and are willing to actively manage preorders, schedule product releases, and control inventory based on preorder activity. The app's robust features for bulk management and preorder scheduling are valuable for businesses with a larger product catalog or those who plan frequent product drops. The higher number of reviews suggests it's a more battle-tested app, though the lower rating indicates some users may experience challenges, so carefully consider how it integrates with your current operations.
