Store Notifications vs WeSupply Returns & Exchangesfor Shopify (2026)
Store Notifications and WeSupply Returns & Exchanges, while both listed under the 'Staff notifications' category in the Shopify app store, address drastically different needs. Store Notifications focuses on providing granular control over store-wide notifications, enabling merchants to filter and route various data points (orders, SKUs, customer info) to different recipients via email, Slack, CSV, or webhooks. This positions it as a solution for merchants requiring advanced automation and data analysis of their operational data. WeSupply Returns & Exchanges, on the other hand, based on its name and 5/5 rating with 11 reviews, likely centers around streamlining the returns and exchanges process for both merchants and their customers. While not explicitly detailed in the provided information, it can be inferred that its notification capabilities are likely limited to events related to returns and exchanges. The difference is about breadth versus depth: Store Notifications aims for broad applicability across store operations, while WeSupply focuses deeply on return-related workflows.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking granular control over all store notifications and the ability to automate data distribution to various stakeholders (suppliers, staff, etc.), Store Notifications may be the better choice, IF its lack of reviews isn't a deterrent. The rule-based system allows for highly customized notifications, potentially saving significant time and resources. However, proceed with caution due to the absence of social proof.
Merchants primarily concerned with optimizing their returns and exchanges process should strongly consider WeSupply Returns & Exchanges. Its high rating and positive reviews suggest a well-received solution in this specific domain. The specialized focus will likely result in a more streamlined and user-friendly experience compared to Store Notifications, which takes a broader approach.
Common Questions
What are the biggest risks of choosing Store Notifications?
The biggest risk is the complete lack of reviews. This could indicate an unstable app, poor support, or a misleading description. Thoroughly investigate the app's developers and exercise extreme caution.
Is WeSupply Returns & Exchanges suitable for merchants with low return volumes?
While the specific features aren't detailed, a dedicated returns management app is generally beneficial even for low volumes. It can establish clear processes and provide a better customer experience.
Can Store Notifications replace a dedicated returns management system?
Unlikely. Store Notifications offers broad notification control but doesn't appear to provide the specialized workflows and features of a dedicated returns management system like WeSupply.
Does Store Notifications integrate directly with inventory management systems?
The description doesn't mention direct inventory integrations. However, webhooks could potentially be used to connect with other systems if they offer webhook support.
How easy is it to set up custom notification rules in Store Notifications?
The description states that the 'rule creator simplifies the process,' but without reviews, the actual ease of use is unknown. Expect a learning curve, especially when setting up complex filtering rules.
