Subuno vs WeTech‑Dispute Resolutionfor Shopify (2026)
Subuno and WeTech‑Dispute Resolution both aim to help Shopify merchants combat fraud and chargebacks, but they take significantly different approaches. Subuno focuses on *preventing* fraudulent orders through automated fraud checks, manual review tools, and integration with third-party data analytics. It empowers merchants to customize fraud screening based on their specific needs and risk tolerance. WeTech‑Dispute Resolution, on the other hand, concentrates on *resolving* disputes and chargebacks *after* they occur, primarily through automated refunds via partnerships with Mastercard/Ethoca and Visa. It positions itself as a chargeback rate reducer and user satisfaction enhancer. The primary difference lies in their proactivity. Subuno is a preventative tool designed to stop fraud before fulfillment, whereas WeTech‑Dispute Resolution is a reactive tool to mitigate the damage caused by chargebacks after a dispute has arisen. Subuno requires merchants to define fraud rules and manually review potentially suspicious orders. WeTech claims to offer 'auto-refunds' and leverages external services (Ethoca/Mastercard, Visa) to reduce merchant involvement in the dispute process. Given the ratings and review counts, merchants should also take note of the apparent lack of user traction for WeTech Dispute Resolution, versus Subuno.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with proactively preventing fraud and willing to invest time in configuring rules and reviewing potentially fraudulent orders, Subuno appears to be the stronger choice based on its features and user feedback. Subuno is preferable for merchants who want greater control over fraud screening and have some technical expertise. For merchants who are more focused on efficiently resolving disputes and minimizing chargeback rates, particularly through automated refunds, WeTech‑Dispute Resolution *could* be a viable option if the service delivers on its promises, and given its lack of reviews, warrants serious consideration before investing in. However, the lack of reviews and zero rating makes WeTech a highly risky choice currently. Subuno is the clear recommendation for most merchants until WeTech can demonstrate tangible value and positive user experiences.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Subuno allows fraud check customization without coding, suggesting it's relatively user-friendly. WeTech Dispute Resolution doesn't provide insight into setup complexity.
Which app offers more comprehensive protection against fraud?
Subuno appears more comprehensive, offering both automated fraud checks and manual review tools. WeTech is limited to resolving existing disputes.
Does WeTech guarantee a lower chargeback rate?
WeTech claims to lower the chargeback rate but provides no guarantees. Actual results likely depend on the specific circumstances of each dispute.
What happens if both apps are installed?
The apps could potentially conflict or duplicate efforts. A merchant might benefit from combining them, by preventing fraud with Subuno, and resolving inevitable disputes with WeTech. However, careful configuration and monitoring would be essential. Given the lack of reviews on WeTech, this approach might be too risky and costly.
Which app is better for a small business with limited resources?
Subuno might be a better starting point for a small business. While it requires some setup and monitoring, it can proactively prevent fraud, potentially saving more time and money in the long run than dealing with chargebacks.
