SupaEasy: AI Functions creator vs Zapier: Workflow Automationfor Shopify (2026)
SupaEasy: AI Functions creator and Zapier: Workflow Automation both operate within the Operations and Workflow Automation categories on Shopify, but they cater to distinct needs and technical skill levels. SupaEasy positions itself as the go-to solution for Shopify merchants, including those on Shopify Plus, who need to create custom discounts, payment, delivery, and validation functions following the deprecation of Scripts. Its core strength lies in simplifying the creation and migration of these functions, utilizing AI to generate code from text descriptions, thereby eliminating the need for coding expertise. Zapier, on the other hand, focuses on broader workflow automation across numerous apps and services, including Shopify. It connects different applications to automate tasks and data transfers. The crucial difference lies in their focus. SupaEasy zeroes in on customizing checkout functionality through Shopify Functions, offering an AI-powered, user-friendly approach tailored specifically for that purpose. This makes it appealing to merchants who want direct control over their checkout process. Zapier offers a wider net, connecting Shopify to a vast ecosystem of apps but requires a different, more general approach to automation, building workflows based on triggers and actions. The ratings also paint a picture of more satisfaction for SupaEasy which enjoys a perfect 5/5 vs Zapier's 3.8/5 with users. SupaEasy also enjoys double the amount of reviews suggesting broader adoption.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants facing the script deprecation and needing precise control over checkout customizations without coding, SupaEasy: AI Functions creator is the clear winner. Its AI-powered function generation and migration tools offer a significant advantage. The superior rating suggests a higher level of satisfaction from users.
However, for merchants seeking broader automation across a wide range of applications beyond Shopify, Zapier: Workflow Automation offers a more comprehensive solution. If the goal is to connect Shopify with various other services and automate diverse tasks, Zapier's extensive integration capabilities become invaluable, but it requires more technical comfort building those workflows. The lower rating and less reviews may indicate users encounter more challenges utilizing the workflow automation tool.
