Synkro: Inventory Sync vs Wipeout Hide out of stockfor Shopify (2026)
Synkro: Inventory Sync and Wipeout Hide out of stock, while both falling under the 'Inventory' category on Shopify, cater to vastly different merchant needs. Synkro is positioned as a comprehensive multi-store management solution, focusing on real-time synchronization of inventory, products, and orders across multiple Shopify stores. It aims to streamline operations for merchants managing a complex network of stores by providing features like product cloning, custom pricing rules, and centralized order routing. Wipeout, on the other hand, directly addresses the customer experience on a single store by automatically hiding sold-out products and republishing them when back in stock. It targets merchants concerned with store clutter and maximizing conversion rates by presenting a clean and up-to-date product catalog. Therefore, Synkro is for multi-store merchants while Wipeout is for single store merchants.

Our Verdict
The choice between Synkro and Wipeout hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. Synkro: Inventory Sync is ideal for businesses operating multiple Shopify stores that require a robust solution for managing inventory, products, and orders across all their stores. Its real-time syncing and cloning features offer significant time savings and improved operational efficiency. However, a merchant operating a single store would gain very little from Synkro.
Wipeout Hide out of stock is better suited for single-store merchants who want to improve the shopping experience for their customers and increase sales conversions by automatically hiding unavailable products. Its ease of use and focus on automation make it a simple yet effective solution for maintaining a clean and appealing product catalog. Ultimately, Wipeout solves a single store-front problem, while Synkro solves a more complex backend problem.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Wipeout is likely easier to set up and use due to its single-store focus and automated functionality. Synkro, with its multi-store capabilities and configuration options, might require a steeper learning curve.
Which app is more suitable for merchants with a large product catalog?
Both apps can be used for merchants with a large catalog. However, the value proposition differs. Synkro is more suitable if the catalog is distributed across multiple stores and needs to be synced, while Wipeout helps to manage the display of that catalog within a single store.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but it might be redundant. If a merchant has multiple stores and also wants to hide out-of-stock items, they could theoretically use Synkro to keep inventory synced and then use Wipeout in each individual store. However, it's possible that Synkro already offers features to manage the display of out-of-stock items, making Wipeout unnecessary.
Which app is more likely to improve SEO?
Both apps can have a positive impact on SEO, but in different ways. Synkro ensures consistent product information across all stores, which can improve rankings for specific products. Wipeout improves user experience, which is a ranking factor. Google doesn't like that a potential customer goes to a website, finds an item they want and then it says 'Out of Stock'. This hurts a website's SEO rankings and can drive potential customers away.
Does Wipeout offer any features to handle pre-orders or backorders?
Based on the provided information, Wipeout primarily focuses on hiding sold-out products and republishing them when back in stock. It does not explicitly mention any features for managing pre-orders or backorders.
