TagFly Google Ads, Tag Manager vs Zigpoll Customer Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
TagFly Google Ads, Tag Manager and Zigpoll Customer Surveys are both Shopify apps designed to improve merchant operations and analytics, but they address fundamentally different needs. TagFly focuses on accurate advertising tracking through server-side technology and prebuilt Google Tag Manager (GTM) containers, aiming to give merchants a clearer picture of ad performance across Google Ads, GA4, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter (X). Zigpoll, on the other hand, is a customer survey app designed to gather zero-party data and insights at various points in the customer journey, including post-purchase, pre-purchase, and abandoned checkout, leveraging AI analytics to improve business decision-making. The apps cater to different segments of the Shopify market. TagFly is ideal for merchants heavily reliant on paid advertising and concerned with the impact of iOS privacy limitations on their tracking accuracy. It offers a technical solution, though it emphasizes ease of use through prebuilt GTM containers. Zigpoll serves merchants focused on improving customer experience, understanding customer pain points, and gathering data directly from their customer base. It's a solution for businesses wanting to directly solicit feedback to optimize various aspects of their business, from marketing to product development. The 'Operations' and 'Analytics' categories are valid for both, but TagFly centers on marketing analytics while Zigpoll emphasizes customer-centric insights.

Our Verdict
The choice between TagFly and Zigpoll depends entirely on a merchant's priorities. If accurate conversion tracking and maximizing the ROI of paid advertising are the primary concerns, TagFly is the better choice. Its server-side tracking and simplified GTM setup address the challenges of modern advertising measurement. However, if a merchant prioritizes understanding their customers, identifying pain points, and gathering direct feedback to improve the overall customer experience and inform business decisions, Zigpoll is the more suitable app. It provides a comprehensive platform for creating and distributing surveys, analyzing the results, and integrating them into existing workflows.
A merchant might even consider using both apps if their budget allows. They solve different problems, but both contribute to a data-driven approach to running a Shopify store. TagFly provides quantitative data on ad performance, while Zigpoll provides qualitative data on customer sentiment.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to be easy to set up, but Zigpoll's no-code survey creation likely makes it simpler for users without technical expertise. TagFly, while providing prebuilt GTM containers, still requires some familiarity with Google Tag Manager.
Which app is more important for improving ad ROI?
TagFly is directly focused on improving ad ROI through accurate conversion tracking, which allows merchants to optimize their ad spend more effectively.
Which app is better for understanding customer churn?
Zigpoll's abandoned checkout and post-purchase surveys can help identify reasons for customer churn, providing insights into potential improvements.
Does TagFly provide demographic data?
TagFly focuses on conversion tracking, not detailed demographic data. Demographic data would primarily be sourced from the advertising platforms (Google, Facebook, etc.) based on ad targeting.
Can Zigpoll surveys be translated into different languages?
Yes, Zigpoll offers multilingual support, allowing merchants to localize surveys for different customer segments.
Which app is better for a new store?
It depends on the new store's priorities. If the store is focusing on fast growth through paid ads, TagFly might be more useful. If the store is focused on creating a great customer experience and gathering feedback early, Zigpoll is a better fit.
