Tax Rex ‑ Sales Tax Automation vs Vennzo VAT Pricing Converterfor Shopify (2026)
Tax Rex ‑ Sales Tax Automation and Vennzo VAT Pricing Converter both operate in the Finances and Taxes categories on Shopify, but serve fundamentally different purposes. Tax Rex focuses on US sales tax compliance, offering automated reporting and filing, economic nexus alerts, and state registration assistance. It's designed to alleviate the burden of US sales tax for e-commerce businesses, especially those navigating multiple state tax laws. Vennzo VAT Pricing Converter, on the other hand, is geared towards international merchants dealing with Value Added Tax (VAT). It helps display VAT-inclusive and exclusive prices and allows for custom VAT rates based on country, focusing on transparency and global compliance. The critical distinction lies in their geographic scope and target audience. Tax Rex caters to US-based businesses struggling with the complexities of US sales tax, providing a comprehensive solution for reporting, filing and compliance. Vennzo appeals to merchants operating internationally, specifically those who need to show VAT prices clearly to customers in different countries and manage varied VAT rates. The app descriptions make clear that Tax Rex is US centric while Vennzo has a global scope. The significant difference in the number of reviews (91 vs. 1) suggests Tax Rex has broader adoption and longer history, potentially indicating higher reliability and a more established track record, though Vennzo could be newer or niche.
