Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro vs Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fieldsfor Shopify (2026)
Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro focuses specifically on obtaining legal consent from customers through customizable checkboxes or popups before they proceed to add items to their cart or checkout. Its core value proposition centers on ensuring legal compliance by enabling merchants to require agreement to various policies like T&Cs, refund policies, privacy policies, and age verification. It offers features like full express checkout support and inline/popup modes. Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fields, on the other hand, is much more broad. It allows merchants to add custom fields to the checkout process, which *could* be used to solicit legal consent, but its capabilities aren't described to be specifically built for that purpose. Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro positions itself as a tool for risk minimization and compliance with regulations, particularly for age-restricted products. The target audience seems to be merchants who are concerned about legal liabilities and are proactively seeking to protect themselves. The key differentiator is how explicitly Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro addresses collecting legal consent. Tusk offers more general use cases not focused on legal agreements specifically. The lack of data points for Tusk makes determining relative efficacy difficult.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a dedicated solution for legal compliance, especially regarding Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies, and Age Verification, Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro appears to be the better choice. Its explicitly stated features and focused design suggest it will be easier to set up and maintain. It addresses specific needs arising from GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations.
If a merchant's primary goal is to collect specific customer data during checkout that goes beyond legal consent, or if they need highly customizable checkout fields for various purposes (not necessarily legal), Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fields might be suitable. However, given the limited information available and a single review, it's difficult to assess its reliability or ease of use compared to Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro, particularly for the specific use case of obtaining legal consent.
