Traffic Police vs Unicorn Location Redirectfor Shopify (2026)
Traffic Police and Unicorn Location Redirect are both Shopify apps in the Geolocation category, aiming to improve the shopping experience and security for international customers, albeit with different approaches. Traffic Police positions itself as a comprehensive security and redirection tool, focusing on blocking malicious traffic based on location, managing allow/block lists, and offering content protection features like image antitheft. Unicorn Location Redirect, conversely, is primarily focused on seamlessly redirecting customers to their localized country-specific stores to increase conversions and reduce fraudulent transactions. While both apps share the geolocation aspect, Traffic Police boasts additional features for security, while Unicorn Location Redirect emphasizes its accurate detection and instant loading technique for a smooth user experience. The primary difference lies in the breadth of functionalities. Traffic Police caters to merchants who prioritize website security alongside geolocation-based redirection. This app is ideal for businesses experiencing issues with bot traffic or needing granular control over regional access. Unicorn Location Redirect is more geared towards merchants seeking a streamlined solution for international expansion by providing customers with a familiar and localized shopping experience. While the number of reviews are low for both, Traffic Police has a slightly larger user base providing feedback.

Our Verdict
If a merchant is primarily concerned with combating malicious traffic, preventing content theft, and requires detailed control over which regions can access their store, Traffic Police is the better option. Its comprehensive feature set provides robust security measures. However, for merchants solely focused on enhancing the customer experience by automatically directing visitors to their localized stores, Unicorn Location Redirect is the more suitable choice. Its focus on accuracy, speed, and anti-spoofing makes it ideal for international businesses prioritizing a smooth and trustworthy localized shopping journey for their customers. Ultimately, the 'best' app depends on the specific needs and priorities of the Shopify merchant.
