Trimly ‑ DTF vs Upload Center: File Uploadfor Shopify (2026)
Trimly ‑ DTF and Upload Center: File Upload both cater to Shopify merchants needing custom file upload functionalities, but they focus on different aspects and serve slightly different target audiences. Trimly - DTF specifically targets DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing businesses, offering tools to streamline the image preparation process for DTF transfers. Its core value proposition is simplifying and automating image optimization for print-readiness. In contrast, Upload Center: File Upload provides a broader solution for various custom product businesses, emphasizing customizable upload fields, automatic price calculation based on uploaded files, and enhanced file management. The primary difference lies in their specialization. Trimly - DTF streamlines DTF artwork preparation with auto-trimming, DPI checking, and resizing, whereas Upload Center emphasizes the versatility of the upload process, supporting multiple file types, quantities, and automatic price calculation. Upload Center also prioritizes comprehensive file management capabilities, including file renaming and restoration. The number of reviews suggests a larger user base and potentially wider applicability for Upload Center compared to Trimly.

Our Verdict
For merchants exclusively focused on DTF printing and needing a tool to optimize customer-uploaded images for print (automatic trimming, DPI checks), Trimly - DTF is the more targeted choice. Its specific features cater directly to the DTF workflow, potentially saving time and reducing errors related to artwork preparation. However, the limited number of reviews should be considered.
If a merchant offers a wider range of customizable products beyond DTF and requires flexible file upload options, automatic pricing based on uploaded file characteristics, and robust file management features, Upload Center: File Upload appears to be the better solution. Its versatility and the higher number of positive reviews suggest a more mature and widely applicable app. The ability to handle multiple file uploads and rename files could be crucial for businesses dealing with complex customization orders.
Common Questions
Which app is better for DTF gang sheet uploads?
While both apps support file uploads, Trimly's features like DPI check might be useful for individual images before creating a gang sheet, but it doesn't manage the gang sheet creation itself. Upload Center would be better for uploading the finalized gang sheet file.
Does either app offer design tools?
Neither app explicitly mentions design tools. They focus on uploading and preparing existing designs, not creating new ones.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but it might be redundant. Trimly could be used to prep images, and then the prepared images could be uploaded via Upload Center for pricing and order management. However, Upload Center might already provide sufficient file upload capabilities.
Which app is easier to use for customers?
Trimly is likely easier for DTF-specific uploads due to its focused features. Upload Center, while versatile, might present more options to customers, potentially requiring more guidance for DTF-specific tasks.
Which app has better support?
Without more information on support channels or responsiveness, it's impossible to definitively say. However, the larger number of reviews on Upload Center *might* indicate a more established support system.
