Trustoo Pop ups, Email Popups vs Zip On‑Site Messagingfor Shopify (2026)
Trustoo Pop ups, Email Popups (also known as SendWILL or Ecomsend) and Zip On-Site Messaging are both Shopify apps that fall under the 'Notifications' and 'Pop-ups' categories, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. Trustoo focuses on comprehensive email marketing and list building, providing tools for capturing leads through popups and forms, creating email campaigns, and automating email flows. It aims to be an all-in-one solution for growing an e-commerce business through email marketing automation, boasting a high rating and substantial user base. Zip On-Site Messaging, on the other hand, is a niche app designed to promote the Zip 'buy now, pay later' service on a merchant's website. It specifically integrates with the Zip payment gateway and displays installment payment options on product pages, cart pages, and minicarts. Its purpose is to increase sales by showcasing the affordability of Zip payments. The app is designed for merchants already partnered with Zip and operating in the US, AU, or NZ. The significantly lower rating and minuscule review count suggests potential issues in its functionality or user experience.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants looking to improve their marketing efforts, Trustoo Pop ups, Email Popups is the clear choice. Its comprehensive email marketing features, ease of use, and high user rating make it a valuable tool for growing an email list and automating sales. The app offers a range of functionality suitable for a variety of marketing needs.
Zip On-Site Messaging is suitable only for merchants who are already partnered with Zip and want to promote the 'buy now, pay later' payment option to their customers. Given its low rating and limited functionality, it's critical that merchants carefully consider whether it enhances their customer experience and ultimately drives sales. The high reliance on the Zip gateway is a core dependency for this app. If the objective is to offer more payment options overall, there might be better apps to consider.
