TryOnify: Try Before You Buy vs UnumPayfor Shopify (2026)
TryOnify: Try Before You Buy and UnumPay are both Shopify apps in the Payments category, but they address entirely different merchant needs. TryOnify focuses on enabling a 'Try Now, Pay Later' experience, reducing cart abandonment by deferring payments and offering a free trial period. This positions it as a customer acquisition tool, particularly appealing to merchants selling products where a trial period can significantly increase conversion rates. UnumPay, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive payment management solution by integrating over 40 global payment gateways through a single API. It emphasizes payment routing control, real-time monitoring of transactions, and simplifying payment operations for merchants. The core difference lies in their primary objective. TryOnify's goal is to facilitate risk-free purchasing for customers, driving initial sales and fostering customer loyalty. UnumPay aims to streamline and centralize payment processing, offering greater control and flexibility in managing multiple payment options. Therefore, TryOnify is a marketing-focused solution, while UnumPay is an operations-focused one.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to increase customer acquisition by offering a 'try before you buy' experience and reducing cart abandonment, TryOnify is the clear choice. Its focus on deferred payments and automated trial management makes it a powerful marketing tool. However, the low number of reviews should be considered.
Conversely, if a merchant needs to support a wide range of payment options, manage complex payment routing, and gain real-time insights into their payment performance, UnumPay is the superior solution. Its integration with numerous gateways and robust reporting features make it a valuable asset for businesses with sophisticated payment needs. The higher number of reviews suggests a more established user base, albeit with a slightly lower average rating.
