Improve the shipping method presentation:
Clear naming - Rename shipping methods from carrier jargon to customer-friendly names. For example, rename “USPS Priority Mail” to “Standard Shipping (3-5 business days)” and “UPS Next Day Air” to “Express Shipping (1 business day).” Include delivery estimates in the name.
Delivery date estimates - Show estimated delivery dates (for example, “Arrives by Friday, [DATE]”) instead of just “3-5 business days.” Calculate the date based on the current day and your processing time of [NUMBER] days.
Visual hierarchy - Highlight the recommended or most popular shipping option. Pre-select the option that best balances speed and cost for most customers. Use a “Recommended” or “Most popular” badge on that option.
Free shipping indicator - If the order qualifies for free shipping, show a green “FREE” badge next to the qualifying method. If the order is close to the free shipping threshold, show a message: “Add [AMOUNT] more for free shipping.”
Price formatting - Display shipping prices clearly aligned to the right of each option. For free options, show “Free” in green rather than “$0.00.” Show the price difference between options to help customers compare.
