17TRACK Order Tracking vs Shopify Order Printerfor Shopify (2026)
17TRACK Order Tracking and Shopify Order Printer serve fundamentally different purposes for Shopify merchants in 2026. 17TRACK focuses on post-purchase order tracking, return management, and enhancing the customer experience through delivery updates and a branded tracking page. Its strengths lie in reducing 'Where Is My Order' (WISMO) inquiries, automating returns, and providing shipping analytics for logistics optimization. It particularly benefits merchants, especially dropshippers, looking to streamline customer communication and manage expectations effectively. Shopify Order Printer, on the other hand, is a pre-fulfillment tool designed to facilitate internal order processing. It allows merchants to customize and print documents like pick lists, packing slips, and invoices, aimed at reducing fulfillment time and improving operational efficiency. The key difference lies in their target functionality: customer-facing order tracking vs. internal order document generation. 17TRACK is for merchants who prioritize customer satisfaction, brand building through post-purchase communication, and efficient return handling. Shopify Order Printer is for merchants who need customizable documents for streamlined order fulfillment and internal organization. The significant difference in ratings (4.9 vs. 2.7) and number of reviews (2484 vs. 302) suggests a much higher level of satisfaction and broader adoption for 17TRACK, though the user bases are distinctly different.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing customer satisfaction, automated communication, and efficient return handling, especially dropshippers needing to hide Chinese origin information, 17TRACK Order Tracking is the clear choice. Its higher rating and extensive user base suggest a superior experience. However, for merchants primarily concerned with streamlining their internal order fulfillment process and creating customized pick lists, packing slips, and invoices, Shopify Order Printer is a viable option, especially given its free availability. While its rating is lower, it directly addresses the need for customizable internal documentation. A merchant *could* use both, leveraging Shopify Order Printer for pre-fulfillment and 17TRACK for post-purchase.
Common Questions
Does 17TRACK help with order fulfillment?
While 17TRACK primarily focuses on *post*-fulfillment order tracking and delivery experience, its shipping analytics *can* indirectly help optimize fulfillment processes by identifying carrier performance issues.
Can I use Shopify Order Printer to track shipments?
No, Shopify Order Printer is designed for *printing* order-related documents, not for tracking shipments. You'll need a separate app like 17TRACK for that.
Which app is better for dropshippers?
17TRACK Order Tracking is significantly better for dropshippers, particularly due to its 'Hide All China Info' feature, which helps protect their brand.
Is either app useful for improving customer retention?
Yes, but in different ways. 17TRACK's branded tracking and automated notifications improve the customer experience, building trust and loyalty. Shopify Order Printer's accurate documentation and efficient fulfillment *contribute* to a positive experience, but less directly.
Do either of these apps integrate with POS systems?
The descriptions state that 17TRACK focuses on online orders. Shopify Order Printer explicitly states that customizing POS printer receipts is not supported.
