Accessibility Enabler AW vs DRINKS ASSUREfor Shopify (2026)
Accessibility Enabler AW and DRINKS ASSURE, while both falling under the 'Legal' Shopify category, cater to vastly different merchant needs. Accessibility Enabler AW focuses on website accessibility, aiming to help merchants comply with WCAG, EAA, and ADA standards. Its strength lies in providing an accessibility widget with numerous customization options and language support, targeting merchants who prioritize inclusivity and avoiding accessibility-related lawsuits. DRINKS ASSURE, on the other hand, specializes in alcohol tax and regulatory compliance. It's tailored specifically for alcohol producers and retailers, integrating directly into the Shopify checkout to ensure accurate tax calculation and adherence to complex regulations. The core difference lies in their functionality: Accessibility Enabler AW enhances user experience for individuals with disabilities, while DRINKS ASSURE automates and streamlines alcohol tax compliance. Accessibility Enabler AW emphasizes accessibility statement generation and customizable UI, features irrelevant to DRINKS ASSURE's focus on excise taxes and POS integration. The review counts also suggest a difference in market penetration; Accessibility Enabler AW, despite a slightly lower rating, has significantly more reviews, suggesting a larger user base (although this does not necessarily imply which app is superior). The 5/5 rating of DRINKS ASSURE could indicate high satisfaction amongst its specific, niche audience.

Our Verdict
The choice between Accessibility Enabler AW and DRINKS ASSURE is straightforward and depends entirely on the merchant's business. If you're an alcohol producer or retailer selling online, DRINKS ASSURE is essential for ensuring compliance with complex alcohol tax regulations. Its real-time integration and pre-configured rules significantly reduce the risk of errors and penalties.
Conversely, if you're any type of merchant concerned about website accessibility and complying with accessibility standards like WCAG, EAA, and ADA, Accessibility Enabler AW is the more appropriate choice. It provides a user-friendly widget and customizable options to improve website accessibility for users with disabilities, mitigating legal risks and enhancing user experience. Merchants selling alcohol but not focused on the compliance aspect of online tax remittance might find DRINKS ASSURE less valuable, whilst every merchant would find *some* value in web accessibility, although it might be a lower priority.
