AddSearch Search & Discovery vs RT: Smooth Scroll To Topfor Shopify (2026)
AddSearch Search & Discovery and RT: Smooth Scroll To Top, while sharing the 'Search and navigation' category, address fundamentally different aspects of the user experience. AddSearch focuses on optimizing the *search* experience itself, aiming to personalize results, correct for synonym variations using AI, and streamline the path to purchase with features like 'Add to Cart' in search results. Their target audience is merchants looking to increase conversions and revenue by improving search relevance and providing a more intuitive product discovery process. RT: Smooth Scroll To Top, in contrast, addresses website navigation. Its value proposition lies in providing a simple, customizable 'scroll to top' button and an optional progress bar. This functionality helps users navigate long pages more easily, especially if the theme lacks this feature natively. Merchants with content-heavy stores or those observing user frustration with lengthy scrolling would find this app useful. The difference is that one enhances search functionality while the other improves general website usability for returning to the top of a page after scrolling down.

Our Verdict
AddSearch Search & Discovery is the superior choice for Shopify merchants who are looking to actively enhance their search functionality, drive conversions through personalized product discovery, and benefit from detailed search analytics. The AI-powered synonym correction is a particularly valuable feature. However, a small number of reviews should be a consideration.
RT: Smooth Scroll To Top, despite its fewer features, holds significant value for merchants with content-rich stores or themes lacking a native 'scroll to top' function. Its ease of installation and customization makes it a quick and effective solution for improving basic website navigation, although not an advanced tool like AddSearch. If your store needs powerful search functionality go with AddSearch, if you only need an easy way to navigate long pages then go with RT: Smooth Scroll To Top.
