AI Live Chat by Social Intents vs Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttonsfor Shopify (2026)
AI Live Chat by Social Intents and Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttons are both Shopify apps in the Chat category boasting a perfect 5/5 rating. However, they cater to significantly different needs and merchant profiles. AI Live Chat by Social Intents focuses on providing an AI-powered live chat experience that integrates seamlessly with existing internal communication platforms like Microsoft Teams, Slack, Google Chat, and Zoom. This allows for efficient agent escalation and avoids context switching. It leverages ChatGPT API integration for initial chatbot interactions. In contrast, Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttons is designed to aggregate various popular chat platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, etc.) into a single, customizable widget. Its primary goal is to make it easy for customers to reach merchants through their preferred channel, increasing sales conversions and improving customer support through accessibility. AI Live Chat targets businesses already heavily invested in collaborative platforms who want to leverage AI for initial customer interactions but maintain efficient handoff capabilities to human agents within their existing workflows. Chaty, on the other hand, is ideal for businesses seeking broad accessibility across numerous popular chat applications and is less focused on AI-driven automation or deep integration with internal team communication tools. The massive difference in reviews (1 vs. 182) suggests Chaty has achieved far broader adoption, potentially indicating a wider appeal, more mature product, or longer presence on the app store.
