Ajaxy Live Search vs Recomatic Related Productsfor Shopify (2026)
Ajaxy Live Search and Recomatic Related Products, while both categorized under Shopify's "Search and Navigation," address distinct needs for merchants. Ajaxy Live Search focuses on enhancing the search bar experience itself, promising instant suggestions and predictive technology within a modern design. It positions itself as a solution to improve product discoverability through direct search queries. Recomatic Related Products, on the other hand, aims to improve product discoverability through strategically placed related product recommendations, focusing on increasing sales by improving cross-selling opportunities. It stresses theme integration, ease of use, and data-driven recommendations fine-tuned to specific merchant needs. The primary difference lies in *how* these apps improve the shopping experience. Ajaxy Live Search aims to make finding the *initial* product easier, while Recomatic Related Products wants to help shoppers discover *additional* products once they've already landed on a product page. One focuses on predictive direct search, the other on AI-powered related recommendations. Furthermore, Recomatic's strong rating and review count compared to Ajaxy Live Search's complete lack of feedback immediately establish it as the seemingly more established and reliable option. However, the newer Ajaxy Live Search might offer features not yet available in competitors, although this is purely speculation, given the lack of data.

Our Verdict
For established stores seeking immediate improvements in conversion rates and cross-selling, Recomatic Related Products, with its strong track record, comprehensive features, and detailed reporting, is the safer and more immediately valuable option. Its emphasis on ease of use and data-driven recommendations also makes it ideal for merchants who want a "set it and forget it" solution.
However, a merchant facing specific search-related challenges or looking to create a unique, modern search experience (especially if they have an international customer base requiring multilingual or RTL support) might *consider* exploring Ajaxy Live Search, *if* they are prepared to be early adopters and potentially encounter bugs given its complete lack of reviews and the inherently higher risk of newer tools. But until Ajaxy Live Search acquires verifiable performance data, Recomatic is clearly the superior choice for most merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and manage?
Recomatic Related Products is likely easier due to its focus on ease of installation and automated recommendations. Ajaxy Live Search, with its emphasis on customization, may require more initial configuration.
Which app is better for increasing average order value?
Recomatic Related Products is specifically designed to increase average order value through suggesting related items, making it the better choice for this goal.
Which app is better for international stores?
Ajaxy Live Search explicitly mentions multilingual support and RTL (right-to-left) language compatibility, making it *potentially* better for international stores, *if* it works as described and has sufficient customer support. This is speculation.
How can I measure the effectiveness of each app?
Recomatic Related Products offers detailed reporting and conversion data, allowing you to directly measure its impact on sales. Ajaxy Live Search lacks specific information about built-in analytics.
Do these apps conflict with each other if installed together?
Potentially, they *could* work together, enhancing both the initial search experience (Ajaxy) and the subsequent related product discovery (Recomatic). However, user experience testing would be crucial to ensure they don't clutter the page or confuse customers.
