Also Bought CBB vs AOV Bundles Volume Discountsfor Shopify (2026)
Also Bought CBB and AOV Bundles Volume Discounts are both Shopify apps in the upsell and cross-sell category, but they target different approaches to increasing average order value (AOV). Also Bought CBB focuses on AI-powered product recommendations using a classic 'Customers Who Bought This Also Bought' approach, refined over years of data analysis. It emphasizes personalized recommendations based on purchase history, aiming for a subtle and integrated cross-selling experience. AOV Bundles Volume Discounts, on the other hand, takes a more direct approach by creating and managing various bundle types, volume discounts, and frequently bought together offers. AOV Bundles is more about strategically creating compelling offers to encourage larger purchases, emphasizing customization and ease of use in setting up various bundle types, including fixed sets, mix-and-match options, and build-your-own kits. While Also Bought is deeply rooted in AI-driven personalized recommendations, AOV Bundles provides more control to the merchant over the specific offers presented to customers, with AI assisting in initial setup. Therefore, they cater to different merchant needs and preferences regarding control and automation in their upselling and cross-selling strategies.

Our Verdict
For merchants who prefer a hands-off approach and want to leverage AI to automatically generate personalized product recommendations based on customer behavior, Also Bought CBB is the better choice. Its long-standing presence and focus on AI training likely provide highly relevant recommendations. On the other hand, AOV Bundles Volume Discounts is more suitable for merchants who want greater control over their upselling strategy, prefer to create specific bundled offers and volume discounts, and have dedicated support available.
If a merchant values deeply personalized, subtle recommendations and doesn't want to manage bundle creation, Also Bought CBB is the stronger option. However, if a merchant prioritizes strategic bundle offers, wants to actively manage and customize these offers, and values readily available support, AOV Bundles Volume Discounts is the preferred solution. The choice depends on the merchant's desired level of control and preferred approach to upselling.
