AMP by Webkul vs Canonical Tag URL Wizardfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, AMP by Webkul and Canonical Tag URL Wizard offer distinct solutions for Shopify merchants looking to optimize their sites. AMP by Webkul focuses on improving mobile page load speeds through Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP). It aims to enhance search engine ranking by creating lightweight AMP versions of key store pages (Home, Collection, and Product). The target audience appears to be merchants focused on achieving better mobile search visibility. In contrast, Canonical Tag URL Wizard addresses the challenge of managing canonical URLs, allowing merchants to edit these tags for various content types (products, pages, articles, collections) to influence search engine indexing and avoid duplicate content issues. Canonical Tag URL Wizard caters to merchants who need precise control over SEO, especially those dealing with multiple versions of products or content and those seeking to consolidate search engine ranking power. The critical difference lies in their purpose: AMP by Webkul aims to speed up mobile page loading, while Canonical Tag URL Wizard focuses on refining SEO by manipulating canonical URLs. A key difference is the social proof, with Canonical Tag URL Wizard boasting a perfect 5/5 rating based on 20 reviews while AMP by Webkul currently has no reviews and therefore a rating of 0/5.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants heavily focused on improving mobile search performance and prioritizing faster page loading, AMP by Webkul presents a potential solution. However, the lack of reviews and rating should be a significant consideration. Merchants should proceed with caution and carefully test the app.
If, on the other hand, your priority is fine-grained SEO control, especially regarding duplicate content and directing search engine attention to specific URLs, Canonical Tag URL Wizard is the clear choice. Its strong 5/5 rating based on 20 reviews suggests a reliable and effective solution. The ability to edit canonical tags across various content types makes it suitable for stores managing multiple versions of products or content.
