ANG Extra menu vs Power Tools Filter Menufor Shopify (2026)
ANG Extra Menu and Power Tools Filter Menu both address navigation needs within a Shopify store, but they cater to fundamentally different aspects of the user experience. ANG Extra Menu focuses on enhancing the general website navigation through mega menus, tab menus, and tree menus, aiming to improve the overall site structure and information architecture. It offers a versatile solution for structuring a store's broader content and providing easy access to different sections. On the other hand, Power Tools Filter Menu zeroes in on product discovery by enabling advanced filtering options within collections, allowing customers to quickly narrow down their choices based on attributes like brand, type, price, and variants. The primary difference lies in their application. ANG Extra Menu is suitable for stores needing to reorganize and present large amounts of information or content beyond just products. Its strength lies in creating visually appealing and easily navigable menus that improve the overall browsing experience. Power Tools Filter Menu, conversely, is specifically designed to streamline product searching, especially in stores with extensive catalogs, empowering customers to find what they want efficiently. Our Verdict
For merchants needing to improve their website's general navigation and content organization, ANG Extra Menu is the better choice. Its diverse menu options and customization capabilities make it suitable for stores looking to enhance the overall user experience beyond just product filtering. It is also ideal for stores that have a variety of non-product pages.
However, if the primary goal is to help customers quickly find specific products within a large catalog, Power Tools Filter Menu is the superior option. Its focus on advanced product filtering directly addresses the challenge of product discovery, leading to increased sales and customer satisfaction. If your store has a complex or extensive product range, Power Tools is a clear winner. Stores could also consider using both apps in conjunction to improve both the overall website navigation and product discovery experience.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a store with a small product catalog?
For a small product catalog, Power Tools Filter Menu might be overkill. ANG Extra Menu could still be valuable for improving overall site navigation and highlighting key product categories within mega menus, but the need for extensive product filtering is less critical.
Does ANG Extra Menu offer product filtering capabilities?
ANG Extra Menu does not primarily focus on product filtering in the way that Power Tools Filter Menu does. It provides general menu creation tools that *could* be used to link to filtered collections, but it doesn't offer the advanced filtering options (brand, price range, etc.) that Power Tools provides natively.
Which app is easier to install and configure?
Based on the descriptions, Power Tools Filter Menu claims a simple installation supporting all themes. ANG Extra Menu touts 'simple and fast customization', suggesting that while the installation might be straightforward, there's more customization required to achieve the desired menu structure. The level of customization could lead to it being more complex to configure depending on the needs.
Can I use both ANG Extra Menu and Power Tools Filter Menu on the same Shopify store?
Yes, these apps address different aspects of navigation and are compatible. ANG Extra Menu enhances overall website navigation, while Power Tools Filter Menu improves product discovery within collections. Using both can provide a comprehensive navigation solution.
Which app offers better value for money?
The provided data does not include pricing information, so it's impossible to determine which app offers better value for money. Merchants should compare the pricing plans and features offered by each app to determine which one best suits their budget and requirements.
