AOD External Links Button vs Essential Free Shipping Upsellfor Shopify (2026)
AOD External Links Button and Essential Free Shipping Upsell are two Shopify apps operating within the Checkout and Cart Customization categories, but address vastly different merchant needs. AOD External Links Button focuses on redirecting traffic to external affiliate links (Amazon, eBay, etc.), aiming to capture revenue that might otherwise be lost to price comparison shopping. It allows merchants to add buttons linking to their products on other platforms, essentially participating in arbitrage. In contrast, Essential Free Shipping Upsell incentivizes increased order values by displaying a progress bar towards free shipping. It focuses on maximizing revenue within the merchant's own store by encouraging customers to add more items to their cart to qualify for free shipping or other rewards, coupled with cart upselling/cross-selling features.
