Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to capitalize on immediate incentives and increase AOV through pre-purchase upselling, Essential Free Shipping Upsell is the stronger choice, evidenced by its higher number of reviews and broader appeal demonstrated in the pre-purchase cart environment. It’s well-suited for businesses that want to encourage customers to add more items to their cart before completing the initial transaction by using the psychology of free shipping offers. However, AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell is more suitable for stores that want to maximize AOV by presenting relevant offers after the initial purchase is complete, thus minimizing friction during the core checkout process. The AI-powered templates suggest a more sophisticated approach to upsell optimization that may appeal to more established online brands.
