Appmax Antifraude vs Sezzle Widgetfor Shopify (2026)
Appmax Antifraude and Sezzle Widget are both Shopify apps in the Payments category, but they address very different needs. Appmax Antifraude focuses on fraud prevention and payment management, targeting merchants who need comprehensive tools for securing transactions and optimizing revenue. It positions itself as a complete payment technology solution with antifraud AI, high approval rates, and tools for subscription management and payment recovery. Sezzle Widget, on the other hand, aims to boost sales by offering Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) and longer-term financing options to customers. It targets merchants who want to increase average order value and conversion rates by making purchases more accessible. The key difference lies in their core functionalities. Appmax Antifraude is all about security and payment optimization, while Sezzle Widget is about boosting sales through flexible payment options. Appmax offers features like AI-powered antifraud, subscription management, and payment recovery. Sezzle provides widgets and modals that display payment options on product and cart pages, automatically adjusting to product and cart values. The low rating and few reviews of Appmax compared to Sezzle also raise concerns about user satisfaction and app reliability, although that could change by 2026.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with security, managing subscriptions, and recovering payments, Appmax Antifraude *could* be a consideration, but the extremely low rating and few reviews are significant red flags. Extensive research and trials would be necessary before committing to this app, to see if its advertised claims hold true. For merchants focused on boosting sales and AOV by offering flexible payment options, Sezzle Widget appears to be the stronger choice, particularly for businesses targeting US and Canadian customers. Its higher rating and more substantial review base suggest a more reliable and user-friendly experience.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's priorities. Security-conscious businesses might be intrigued by Appmax's claims, but the risk associated with the low rating is substantial. Those prioritizing sales growth with flexible payment options are likely better served by Sezzle Widget, assuming their target audience is primarily in the US and Canada.
