AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro vs Rakuten Ichiba (JP)for Shopify (2026)
AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro and Rakuten Ichiba (JP) are both Shopify apps in the 'Selling online' and 'Marketplaces' categories, but they cater to drastically different needs and audiences. AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro is designed for merchants aiming to maximize their reach on Google Shopping globally, offering robust features for multi-language, multi-currency support, and advanced feed optimization, with specific attention to local and regional inventory. Rakuten Ichiba (JP), on the other hand, appears to be specifically tailored for Japanese market entry via the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace. The key distinction lies in their supported platforms and target markets. AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro excels at providing highly configurable feeds for Google Shopping, supporting metafields/metaobjects mapping, advanced filtering, and targeting various countries. Its primary focus is on maximizing visibility and sales within the Google ecosystem worldwide. Rakuten Ichiba (JP), based on its name, likely focuses on integrating Shopify stores with the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace in Japan. This app potentially simplifies the process of listing products and managing orders specifically for that platform, although its low rating and limited reviews suggest potential drawbacks or a niche appeal.

Our Verdict
AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro is the clear choice for merchants who are serious about leveraging Google Shopping to expand their reach globally. Its high rating, numerous reviews, and feature set dedicated to multi-language, multi-currency, and advanced feed optimization make it a powerful tool for maximizing visibility and sales on Google. It's especially valuable for businesses operating in multiple countries.
Rakuten Ichiba (JP) might be suitable *only* for merchants specifically targeting the Japanese market via the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace, *and* who are willing to accept the risk associated with the app's significantly lower rating and limited user feedback. Merchants should carefully investigate the app's functionality and support before committing, given the potential for integration issues or a lack of comprehensive documentation. Consider alternatives or contacting the developer directly to address concerns before proceeding. Ultimately, the low rating of Rakuten Ichiba (JP) compared to the high rating of AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro makes the later the recommended choice for most merchants.
Common Questions
Which app supports more marketplaces?
AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro technically supports more platforms through XML feed creation. While its primary focus is Google Shopping, it can generate XML feeds that *may* be compatible with other platforms like Bing and Meta/Facebook. Rakuten Ichiba (JP) focuses exclusively on Rakuten Ichiba.
Is AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro useful for a store only selling in Japan?
While AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro *could* be used to create a Google Shopping feed specifically targeting Japan, it might be overkill. If the sole aim is Rakuten Ichiba, and the Rakuten Ichiba (JP) app works well, that could be considered. However, the very low review score is worrying.
Which app offers better support?
Based on the app descriptions and ratings, AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro likely offers better support. It has many more reviews and a much higher rating, suggesting a more responsive and helpful support team. The Rakuten Ichiba (JP) app's low rating suggests possible support issues.
Does Rakuten Ichiba (JP) support multiple languages?
The information available does not explicitly mention multilingual support for Rakuten Ichiba (JP). It can be assumed that it has, at minimum, Japanese language support. The description provided does not offer many clues.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Given the higher rating and focus on user-friendly features, AR: Google Shopping Feed Pro is likely easier to set up and use. The Rakuten Ichiba (JP)'s low rating could be linked to a confusing set-up process or unclear documentation.
