Our Verdict
If you want to accurately predict and communicate delivery dates to your customers, enhancing their shopping experience and reducing post-purchase anxiety, ArivBy Estimated Delivery Date is the better choice. Its ease of use and seamless integration with Shopify themes make it a quick and effective solution.
However, if your primary concern is fine-grained control over shipping costs and rules, particularly for products with varying shipping requirements, local delivery options, or geographic restrictions, Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the more suitable option. Its powerful rule engine allows for highly customized shipping strategies, but you'll need to consider the complexity and the Carrier Calculated Shipping API requirement.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
ArivBy Estimated Delivery Date is likely easier to set up, especially for users with Shopify 2.0 themes, as it claims to require no developer. Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip, while powerful, may have a steeper learning curve due to its advanced shipping rule configuration.
Does either app offer support for international shipping?
While both apps can potentially support international shipping through configuration of shipping rates and rules, Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip explicitly mentions 'shipping by zip codes or postcode shipping', implying specific functionality for managing shipping across different geographical regions. ArivBy focuses more on the ETA once shipping details are determined.
Which app is better for a small business with simple shipping needs?
For a small business with simple shipping needs, ArivBy Estimated Delivery Date might be the better option. It provides immediate value by setting accurate delivery expectations, which can improve customer satisfaction without requiring complex configuration. Simple shipping can still benefit from good ETA.
Which app is better for local delivery?
Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is explicitly designed for local delivery, including features for setting order limits, time slots, and delivery dates by zip code. ArivBy does not offer this same level of dedicated local delivery management.
Do either of the apps include features to track carrier performance?
Neither app explicitly states that it tracks carrier performance. ArivBy tracks the accuracy of *its* delivery *estimates* based on actual order data, which could indirectly provide some insight into carrier performance, but it's not a primary feature.
