Aroshiya SMS Carrier vs Dataships Checkout Opt‑infor Shopify (2026)
Aroshiya SMS Carrier and Dataships Checkout Opt-in both operate within the SMS marketing category on Shopify, but serve fundamentally different purposes. Aroshiya SMS Carrier positions itself as a general SMS notification tool, enabling merchants to send alerts and customized messages via various HTTP request gateways. Its strength lies in its flexibility and customization options for sending SMS related to user activities or loyal customer communication. Its target audience is likely merchants with existing SMS gateway accounts who want to build custom SMS workflows based on events within their Shopify store. Dataships Checkout Opt-in, in contrast, focuses specifically on acquiring SMS marketing opt-ins at the checkout stage. Dataships's strength is its dynamic consent management, adapting to regional privacy requirements and optimizing the checkout experience for opt-in conversion. Its key differentiators are seamless Klaviyo integration, comprehensive compliance tools, and dedicated support for privacy and growth strategy. Dataships is geared towards merchants aiming to build their email and SMS marketing lists while maintaining regulatory compliance, particularly those already using Klaviyo for marketing automation. While both apps offer value, they address distinct pain points within the broader SMS marketing landscape: one focuses on sending event-triggered messages, and the other concentrates on compliant list building.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a flexible solution to send SMS notifications triggered by various store events and who already have an SMS gateway account (like ClickSend or Vonage), Aroshiya SMS Carrier might be suitable, especially if customization is a priority. However, given the limited review data (only 1 review), proceed with caution and thorough testing.
Dataships Checkout Opt-in is the superior choice for merchants whose primary goal is to ethically and compliantly grow their email and SMS marketing lists, particularly if they already use Klaviyo. Its focus on consent management, seamless integration, and dedicated support make it a less technically demanding and more strategically aligned solution for marketing acquisition. The higher review count also lends more credibility to its efficacy.
