AskAway vs Kanal: WhatsApp Marketing+Chatfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing a chat app are faced with two distinct options: AskAway and Kanal: WhatsApp Marketing+Chat. AskAway positions itself as an AI-powered chatbot focusing on intelligent product recommendations and instant support to boost sales and customer satisfaction through seamless integration. Kanal, on the other hand, focuses on WhatsApp-based marketing and chat functionalities, enabling direct communication with customers through a popular messaging platform. The primary difference lies in their approach. AskAway uses AI within the Shopify storefront, while Kanal utilizes WhatsApp as its core communication channel. This difference impacts their target audiences. AskAway appears geared towards merchants seeking automated customer service and personalized recommendations, whereas Kanal is designed for merchants who want to leverage WhatsApp for marketing campaigns and direct customer engagement. The notable difference in user reviews and ratings also suggests a significant disparity in user satisfaction and established market presence, giving Kanal a considerable head start.

Our Verdict
Kanal: WhatsApp Marketing+Chat is currently the safer choice for most merchants in 2026, given its perfect rating and existing user base providing positive feedback. This app is ideally suited for merchants already comfortable using WhatsApp for business and seeking to expand their marketing and support efforts on the platform. AskAway, while promising AI-powered automation, carries more risk due to its lack of reviews. Early adopters willing to invest time and effort in training the AI and providing feedback could potentially benefit from its automated capabilities, but should proceed with caution. If immediate results and proven reliability are paramount, Kanal is the superior option.
