Atlas Pickup Points vs Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZipfor Shopify (2026)
Atlas Pickup Points and Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip both address critical shipping needs for Shopify merchants, but cater to distinct use cases. Atlas Pickup Points focuses on expanding delivery options by integrating with a vast network of parcel lockers, PUDOs, and Point Relais globally. Its strength lies in streamlining the pickup process with a user-friendly interface, particularly for Shopify Plus users, and its scalable performance is designed for high-volume businesses. The key value proposition is simplifying international shipping logistics with pre-built integrations for over 50 carriers in 35 countries. While Atlas Pickup points won an award in 2025 for UX, its limited checkout customization and lack of shipping rules beyond pickup points limit appeal for complex shipping setups. Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip, conversely, provides robust tools for calculating custom shipping rates based on a multitude of conditions, including product attributes, customer location (zip codes), and cart parameters. Its forte is in enabling granular control over shipping costs and options, particularly for merchants requiring precise rate calculations for diverse product lines or geographical areas. ShipZip also handles local delivery and store pickup, targeting businesses like bakeries and flower shops that require order delivery date management and time slot scheduling. ShipZip's strength is in providing a customisable solution for shipping cost calculation but requires Carrier Calculated Shipping API which might pose a limitation.

Our Verdict
If your priority is to offer a wide range of global pickup locations and you're a Shopify Plus merchant, Atlas Pickup Points is the better choice. Its pre-built integrations with numerous carriers and user-friendly interface streamline the pickup process. Its strength is in handling global delivery logistics.
However, if you need granular control over shipping rates based on product attributes, customer location, or order parameters, and especially if you require advanced local delivery features like order delivery date management, Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the more suitable option. Businesses like bakeries, flower shops, or those with complex shipping needs will benefit the most. Consider that ShipZip relies on Carrier Calculated Shipping API.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the information provided, Atlas Pickup Points appears to be easier to set up, especially for Shopify Plus users, due to its focused functionality and pre-built carrier integrations. Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip, with its extensive rule configuration, likely requires more effort to set up.
Which app is better for international shipping?
Atlas Pickup Points is explicitly designed for international shipping by integrating with numerous carriers across 35 countries. Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip can facilitate international shipping, but its primary focus is on custom rate calculation, not on simplifying carrier integrations.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, yes, but it depends on your specific needs. If you require both advanced shipping rate calculations *and* pickup point delivery, you could use Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip for the former and Atlas Pickup Points for the latter. However, it might be more efficient to find a single app that offers both features to avoid redundancy and potential conflicts.
Which app is better for local delivery businesses like bakeries or flower shops?
Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip is the better choice for local delivery businesses as it offers order delivery date management, time slot scheduling, and local delivery radius features, which are essential for these types of businesses. Atlas Pickup Points primarily focuses on pickup points.
Does Atlas Pickup Points work on all Shopify plans?
The description states that pickup point selection at checkout is a Shopify Plus only feature, suggesting that other plans are supported only for pickup point selection on the thank you page.
