Authorize Earth vs Ongoing Disable Right Clickfor Shopify (2026)
Authorize Earth and Ongoing Disable Right Click are two Shopify apps categorized under 'Fraud', but they address vastly different aspects of the category. Authorize Earth positions itself as a comprehensive fraud prevention solution, focusing on identity verification, order analysis, and automated decision-making based on pre-defined risk thresholds and detection logic built from store order patterns. It targets merchants concerned with high-value fraud, identity theft, and chargebacks by employing techniques such as ID verification, address matching, and payment validation. Ongoing Disable Right Click, on the other hand, is focused solely on preventing content theft by disabling right-click functionality on the storefront. The primary difference lies in their scope and purpose. Authorize Earth offers a multi-faceted approach to fraud prevention, handling potentially fraudulent orders via automated analysis and manual review, which is geared toward merchants dealing with high order values and substantial fraud risks. Ongoing Disable Right Click tackles a specific, albeit less impactful in terms of monetary loss, form of intellectual property theft. This app is better suited for stores primarily concerned with protecting visual assets and content from easy duplication. It addresses immediate content theft, where Authorize Earth aims at preventing transactional fraud. Authorize Earth's main strength lies in its customizable fraud detection logic and automated actions, while Ongoing Disable Right Click’s strength comes from its simplicity and direct approach to disabling right-click functionality.

Our Verdict
The choice between Authorize Earth and Ongoing Disable Right Click depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If the primary concern is preventing financial losses due to fraudulent orders, especially high-value ones, Authorize Earth is the appropriate solution, assuming the lack of reviews reflects a new launch and not underlying issues. Merchants should proceed with caution and thorough testing given the lack of social proof.
Conversely, if the focus is on safeguarding website content and preventing casual content theft, Ongoing Disable Right Click is the more suitable option. It offers a straightforward solution to a specific problem. It’s difficult to directly compare the apps since they address different needs within the broader 'Fraud' category. Authorize Earth seems much more advanced than a simple right-click disabling. Ongoing Disable Right Click might be suitable for entry-level prevention, but Authorize Earth appears more robust, though unproven.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Ongoing Disable Right Click is likely much easier to set up, potentially requiring only a simple activation. Authorize Earth, on the other hand, likely involves configuring risk thresholds, defining action mappings, and potentially integrating with other services.
Which app provides more comprehensive fraud protection?
Authorize Earth aims for comprehensive fraud protection by analyzing orders, verifying identities, and automating decisions. Ongoing Disable Right Click offers a very limited scope of protection by preventing right-clicking, which does not prevent fraud in the financial sense.
Which app is more suitable for a small business?
It depends on the specific needs. If a small business is experiencing a significant amount of fraud, Authorize Earth *might* be beneficial (with extreme caution). If a small business just wants to protect images, Ongoing Disable Right Click is likely the better option.
What are the risks of using Authorize Earth with no reviews?
Using Authorize Earth without any reviews is inherently risky. There's no social proof of its effectiveness, ease of use, or reliability. Merchants should proceed with extreme caution and rigorously test the app in a staging environment before deploying it to a live store.
How effective is disabling right-click in preventing content theft?
Disabling right-click provides a basic level of protection against casual content theft. Technically savvy users can easily bypass this measure using browser developer tools or other methods. Its effectiveness is therefore limited.
