Our Verdict
Given the data available, Dataships Checkout Opt‑in is the clear recommendation for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its strong user reviews, clear focus on checkout opt-in acquisition, Klaviyo integration, and emphasis on privacy compliance make it a compelling choice for merchants prioritizing list growth and data privacy. Automated Guni SMS Marketing, with its lack of reviews and information, is a risky option. Until it establishes a proven track record, it's difficult to recommend over Dataships or other established SMS marketing solutions. However, if a merchant is comfortable experimenting with a potentially basic and inexpensive (assuming it's priced accordingly) SMS marketing solution, it *might* be considered. But the risks are high.
