BeSure Checkout Rules vs Essential Free Shipping Upsellfor Shopify (2026)
BeSure Checkout Rules and Essential Free Shipping Upsell are both 5-star rated Shopify apps in the 'Checkout' and 'Cart customization' categories. However, they serve very different purposes. BeSure Checkout Rules focuses on providing merchants granular control over the checkout process itself, allowing them to modify the appearance and functionality of shipping and payment options based on various conditions. This addresses the technical aspects of optimizing the checkout flow for specific customer segments or product types. Essential Free Shipping Upsell, on the other hand, is designed to boost average order value (AOV) and sales by leveraging the incentive of free shipping. Essential Free Shipping Upsell uses a progress bar to visually motivate customers to add more items to their cart to reach a free shipping threshold. It also incorporates upsell and cross-sell features to further increase the cart total. While both aim to improve the customer experience, BeSure does so through customization and control, while Essential Free Shipping Upsell uses gamification and incentives to drive sales and AOV. The difference between the two is that one focuses on the presentation and structure of the checkout page (BeSure), whereas the other concentrates on using psychological triggers to influence customer purchasing behavior before they reach the payment stage (Essential Free Shipping Upsell).
