Block right‑click vs Ongoing Disable Right Clickfor Shopify (2026)
Block right‑click and Ongoing Disable Right Click both aim to protect Shopify store content by preventing copying via right-click and text selection. Both apps position themselves as easy to use, requiring no coding or theme editing. The core functionality is the same: disabling common content-copy actions to protect product descriptions, images, and custom content. However, a significant difference lies in their current reputation. Ongoing Disable Right Click has a perfect 5/5 rating based on 4 reviews, suggesting a positive user experience. In contrast, Block right‑click has no reviews and a 0/5 rating, which makes it difficult to assess its reliability and effectiveness. This difference in user feedback is critical when deciding between the two options, as it indicates potential differences in app performance, support, or overall user satisfaction. Our Verdict
Given the available data in 2026, Ongoing Disable Right Click appears to be the safer and more reliable choice for most Shopify merchants. The perfect rating and existing reviews indicate that the app functions as intended and provides a positive user experience. While Block right‑click promises similar functionality, the absence of reviews makes it difficult to assess its performance or reliability.
For merchants risk-averse and needing content protection immediately, Ongoing Disable Right Click is the preferable solution. Merchants willing to experiment and potentially encounter issues could try Block right‑click, but they should be prepared to troubleshoot any problems due to the lack of existing user feedback.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to be extremely easy to set up, requiring no coding. However, without user reviews for Block right‑click, it's difficult to definitively confirm its ease of use. Ongoing Disable Right Click's positive reviews suggest a smooth setup process.
Which app is more reliable?
Based on the available data, Ongoing Disable Right Click appears more reliable. Its 5/5 rating and 4 reviews indicate that the app functions as expected and provides a satisfactory user experience. Block right‑click's lack of reviews makes its reliability uncertain.
Do both apps offer the same features?
Both apps appear to offer the same core functionality: disabling right-click and text selection. They both aim to prevent the copying of product descriptions, images, and other store content without requiring any coding. Feature parity beyond these core functionalities is unknown.
Is it possible to test Block right‑click before committing?
This depends on whether Block right‑click offers a free trial or a free plan. The app description doesn't provide this information, so users would need to check the app listing in the Shopify App Store for trial information. A trial period could mitigate the risk of trying an app with no reviews.
Are there any potential downsides to disabling right-click?
Yes, disabling right-click can slightly hinder the user experience. Some users may be accustomed to using right-click for legitimate purposes, such as copying text for personal use or using browser extensions. Merchants should weigh the potential benefits of content protection against the possible drawbacks to user experience.
