Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a complete marketing solution encompassing email, SMS, web, and app marketing, Bloomreach Email&SMS Marketing is a suitable choice, particularly if they value AI-driven automation. However, the very limited number of reviews (only 4) should be a significant factor in considering it, especially in 2026. If the primary goal is to increase email and SMS opt-ins during checkout while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, Dataships Checkout Opt-in is the stronger choice. Its focus and higher review count (43 with a perfect rating) suggest a more reliable and targeted solution for this specific need.
Dataships would be a valuable addition to a Shopify store using a different primary email/SMS marketing platform such as Klaviyo, while Bloomreach attempts to be a comprehensive replacement. A merchant looking to consolidate platforms might start with Bloomreach if the limited reviews aren't a major concern; otherwise, Dataships focused value proposition at the checkout process is likely to be higher-impact.
