Booster Page Speed Optimizer vs Crush: Speed & Image Optimizerfor Shopify (2026)
Booster Page Speed Optimizer and Crush: Speed & Image Optimizer both aim to improve Shopify store performance, but they tackle the problem from different angles. Booster Page Speed Optimizer focuses on perceived loading speed through browser preloading, aiming for a near-instant experience for users navigating the site. This approach is particularly beneficial for merchants concerned about immediate bounce rates due to slow page transitions. Conversely, Crush: Speed & Image Optimizer prioritizes actual loading speed by optimizing image sizes and enhancing SEO through image renaming and ALT tag adjustments. It offers a more holistic approach, combining speed improvements with search engine visibility. The apps also target different aspects of the customer journey. Booster directly addresses user experience during navigation, influencing add-to-cart conversions by making pages 'feel' faster. Crush focuses on the broader customer acquisition funnel, improving both loading speed and discoverability through SEO. While both contribute to overall store performance, their core value propositions appeal to merchants with varying priorities: immediate user experience versus long-term SEO gains and overall speed optimization. Finally, note that Booster focuses on automatic background preloading for faster perceived speed while Crush offers optimization that can be automated but also allows for manual manipulation if desired. Crush offers an additional value via SEO beyond speed optimization.
