BS ‑ Better Shipping vs Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZipfor Shopify (2026)
BS ‑ Better Shipping and Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip both address the need for customized shipping rates on Shopify, but they cater to different merchant profiles. Better Shipping focuses on providing flexible, reliable, and easily implemented custom shipping rules primarily around products and location. ShipZip, on the other hand, offers a more advanced and granular approach to shipping rules, focusing on conditions based on product attributes (SKU, tags, vendors), distance, cart parameters, delivery dates, and local delivery/pickup options. ShipZip requires the Carrier Calculated Shipping API, indicating a more complex but powerful solution. Both aim to boost profitability by giving merchants more control over shipping costs. Better Shipping is better positioned for merchants who need fundamental shipping customization options like product-specific rates or zip code restrictions without the complexity of advanced rules. In contrast, ShipZip caters to larger stores or those with specific operational needs such as local delivery services with time slots, order delivery date restrictions, or those using advanced product categorization (SKU, vendor) for shipping calculations. The higher review count and perfect rating for ShipZip suggest wider adoption and satisfaction, potentially due to its expanded feature set and targeting of more complex shipping scenarios. However, Better Shipping's ease of use might be more attractive for smaller businesses or those less technically inclined.

Our Verdict
If you're a small to medium-sized business needing straightforward customization of shipping rates based on products or zip codes, BS ‑ Better Shipping is likely a suitable choice. Its simplicity and focus on core shipping rules make it easier to implement and manage. However, if your business requires advanced shipping logic based on product attributes (like SKUs or tags), distance-based rates, date-specific delivery options, or robust local delivery management, then Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the better option, despite potentially requiring more technical setup and the Carrier Calculated Shipping API.
While Shipping & Delivery - ShipZip has a higher rating and more reviews, it's not necessarily the best choice for everyone. A small store needing simple shipping controls would find Better Shipping more appropriate and less overwhelming. ShipZip is the clear winner for more complex needs. Therefore, carefully consider the specific shipping scenarios your business encounters and your technical capabilities when making your decision.
