Captain Shipping Protection vs EasySell COD Form & Upsellsfor Shopify (2026)
Captain Shipping Protection and EasySell COD Form & Upsells, while both categorized under 'Upsell and cross-sell' on Shopify, address distinctly different needs. Captain Shipping Protection focuses on mitigating risks associated with shipping by offering order protection options to customers. This increases merchant revenue by allowing them to retain shipping protection fees, while also improving conversion rates by providing customers with peace of mind. It targets merchants concerned about package loss, damage, or theft during shipping, offering a customized solution to manage these risks. EasySell COD Form & Upsells, on the other hand, is geared towards streamlining the cash-on-delivery (COD) payment process and boosting AOV through various upsell and downsell strategies. EasySell is especially useful for dropshipping businesses or those targeting markets where COD is a preferred payment method. It aims to reduce fake orders through phone number verification and simplifies order management with features like automatic export to Google Sheets. Both apps offer value within the 'Upsell and cross-sell' category, but cater to businesses with vastly different primary concerns: shipping risks versus optimizing COD payments and AOV.

Our Verdict
If your primary concern is mitigating shipping risks (damage, loss, theft) and increasing revenue through order protection fees, Captain Shipping Protection is the clear choice. It provides a comprehensive, customizable solution that allows you to tailor the protection offered to your customers. However, if you primarily rely on Cash on Delivery as a payment method, especially in a dropshipping context, EasySell COD Form & Upsells will provide far greater value. It optimizes the COD process, reduces fraudulent orders, and focuses on increasing your average order value through strategic upsells and downsells.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on your specific business model, target market, and primary challenges. Merchants concerned about shipping logistics should prioritize Captain Shipping Protection, while those focused on optimizing COD sales should opt for EasySell.
