Cashfree BNPL Plus vs iDEAL by Lyra Collectfor Shopify (2026)
Cashfree BNPL Plus and iDEAL by Lyra Collect represent fundamentally different approaches to payment optimization on Shopify in 2026. Cashfree BNPL Plus focuses on increasing sales through Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options, aiming to reduce cart abandonment and boost average order value by prominently displaying EMI and Pay Later options on the product page. Its target audience is merchants seeking to improve conversion rates and compete with larger e-commerce marketplaces by offering flexible payment plans. A key advantage is its no-code setup, making it accessible to merchants without technical expertise, assuming the Cashfree Payments app is already in use. Conversely, iDEAL by Lyra Collect centers around providing secure iDEAL payments, a popular payment method in some European countries, via Lyra Collect's payment gateway. It caters to merchants targeting customers who prefer iDEAL and prioritizes secure payment processing, refunds, cancellations, and payment validations. Its description highlights multi-language and multi-currency compliance, suggesting a focus on international sales. While it also claims easy installation, the lack of reviews makes it difficult to verify this claim compared to Cashfree's single positive review, which at least suggests a functional setup for at least one user. The main difference lies in the payment method offered, BNPL vs iDEAL, and the target market for those payment options.

Our Verdict
The choice between Cashfree BNPL Plus and iDEAL by Lyra Collect hinges entirely on the target audience and business goals. If the primary objective is to boost sales through flexible payment options like BNPL, and the merchant already uses (or is willing to use) Cashfree Payments, then Cashfree BNPL Plus is the clear choice. Its no-code setup and focus on conversion optimization are strong advantages.
However, if the business needs to accept iDEAL payments, particularly in the Netherlands, and prioritizes secure payment processing and refund capabilities, iDEAL by Lyra Collect is the only viable option of these two. The lack of reviews for iDEAL by Lyra Collect does introduce some risk, suggesting proceeding with caution and perhaps testing the app thoroughly before a full rollout. Ultimately, these apps solve vastly different problems.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to install?
Cashfree BNPL Plus claims a no-code setup, suggesting extreme ease of use, but requires the Cashfree Payments app. iDEAL by Lyra Collect also promises easy installation, but lacks user reviews to corroborate this claim. The actual difficulty may depend on the merchant's existing setup.
Which app will directly increase my average order value (AOV)?
Cashfree BNPL Plus is designed to increase AOV by offering flexible payment options and encouraging larger purchases. iDEAL by Lyra Collect focuses on providing a specific payment method and does not inherently aim to increase AOV.
Which app is better for international sales?
iDEAL by Lyra Collect explicitly mentions multi-currency and multi-language support, making it potentially more suitable for international sales *if* your target market uses iDEAL. Cashfree BNPL Plus doesn't explicitly mention support for international currencies or languages.
What happens if I don't use Cashfree Payments with Cashfree BNPL Plus?
According to the description, Cashfree BNPL Plus requires the Cashfree Payments app to be installed and activated. It will not function without it.
Is either app guaranteed to increase sales?
Neither app *guarantees* increased sales. Cashfree BNPL Plus *aims* to increase sales, while iDEAL by Lyra Collect facilitates a specific payment method. Results will depend on various factors, including the merchant's target market, product offering, and marketing efforts.
