Cashfree BNPL Plus vs Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messagingfor Shopify (2026)
Cashfree BNPL Plus and Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messaging are both Shopify apps aiming to improve sales by offering flexible payment options to customers, but they operate differently and target distinct merchant needs. Cashfree BNPL Plus focuses on seamless integration with the Cashfree Payments app, enabling merchants to display EMIs, Pay Later options, discounts, and cashbacks directly on product pages without requiring coding. This aims to reduce cart abandonment and increase average order value. Skeps Pay-Over-Time Messaging, on the other hand, acts as a messaging app that highlights available installment payment plans provided by external U.S. banks, necessitating a separate 'Skeps Pay-Over-Time' app for payment processing. The key difference lies in their approach and integration. Cashfree BNPL Plus is an all-in-one solution tightly coupled with its payment gateway, promising ease of use. Skeps Pay-Over-Time Messaging is a front-end messaging tool that requires further integration with the Skeps payment processing app. Skeps also highlights its ability to provide larger line sizes (up to $25K) and to tailor financing offers at the SKU level, suggesting a focus on merchants selling higher-value items or those seeking granular control over financing promotions. Both apps aim to improve conversion rates by making purchases more accessible to a wider range of customers through flexible payment options.

Our Verdict
For merchants already using Cashfree Payments and seeking a simple, no-code solution to offer BNPL options, Cashfree BNPL Plus seems the more straightforward choice. Its integrated approach simplifies the process and allows for quick deployment of visible EMI and Pay Later options.
However, if a merchant requires larger line sizes for financing, needs highly customizable financing options at the SKU level, or wants to utilize installment loans from U.S. banks, Skeps Pay‑Over‑Time Messaging, in conjunction with the Skeps Pay-Over-Time app, becomes the more compelling option. While requiring more setup and integration, it offers greater control and potentially higher financing limits.
