Our Verdict
Categories Uncomplicated emerges as the stronger choice for most merchants in 2026, given its significantly higher rating and number of reviews, suggesting greater user satisfaction and reliability. Its integration with Shopify's existing navigation system, Shopify Translate & Adapt, and drag-and-drop installation further enhance its usability and adaptability. Categories by BTP, while offering automated category tree generation, suffers from a low rating and limited reviews, which raises concerns about its performance and support. While Categories by BTP might appeal to merchants specifically seeking a hands-off approach, the risks associated with its poor rating likely outweigh the benefits. Categories Uncomplicated is better suited for merchants who prioritize flexibility, integration, and a proven track record of positive user experience.
