Our Verdict
For merchants needing to revamp their category structure and improve SEO through detailed product categorization, Categories by BTP is the logical choice *if* the low rating and few reviews are addressed by the developers with improved support and functionality by 2026. However, the low rating and minimal reviews present a significant risk. On the other hand, if a merchant's primary goal is to create visually appealing and highly accessible menus to showcase key products or collections, and they are leveraging a theme with 2.0 functionality, KOBU ‑ Menu Highlight appears to be a more reliable option, given its high rating and positive user feedback.
Considering the importance of user experience and a proven track record, KOBU ‑ Menu Highlight is generally recommended for merchants seeking an immediate solution. Merchants considering Categories by BTP should proceed with caution and thoroughly investigate the current state of the app and user feedback before committing.
