Categories Uncomplicated vs DB Back To Topfor Shopify (2026)
Categories Uncomplicated and DB Back To Top, while both residing in the 'Search and Navigation' and 'Navigation and Menus' Shopify categories, address fundamentally different aspects of store navigation and user experience. Categories Uncomplicated focuses on providing a hierarchical category structure for improved product discovery and SEO, targeting merchants with extensive product catalogs seeking better organization. In contrast, DB Back To Top aims to enhance the basic browsing experience by offering a quick return-to-top button, benefiting stores prioritizing mobile usability and potentially long product pages. The critical difference lies in scope: Categories Uncomplicated tackles overall site architecture, while DB Back To Top focuses on a singular, specific navigational enhancement. Categories Uncomplicated is backed by positive user reviews (5/5 with 36 reviews), suggesting established functionality and satisfaction. DB Back To Top, conversely, lacks any user ratings or reviews, indicating a newer or potentially less adopted app. Considering merchant needs, Categories Uncomplicated offers a feature-rich approach to catalog management, including SEO enhancements and theme integration. DB Back To Top provides a simpler, branding-focused approach to navigation. Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with product organization and SEO, Categories Uncomplicated is the clear choice, especially if they have a large or complex product catalog. The positive reviews suggest reliability and effective functionality. However, if a merchant is primarily concerned with improving the browsing experience on mobile or long pages, and wants a simple, easily customizable addition, DB Back To Top could be considered. However, its lack of reviews presents a risk. A merchant might want to look at other, similar 'back to top' apps with positive reviews before choosing DB Back To Top.
